Connecting an account (Slack, Notion, Google Docs, SharePoint & OneDrive)
Open the Sidenote sidebar, or the Connections page in the dashboard, and choose Connect for the provider you want. Sidenote reads only the documents you explicitly ingest, through each provider's official API. For exactly what each integration accesses, see our Privacy Policy. You can disconnect at any time, which deletes the stored access token.
Slack canvases
Open a canvas and ingest it from the sidebar. If the canvas is open in a channel side panel — where the page URL doesn't change — use the paste-the-link option in the Ingest card: copy the link from the canvas's ••• menu and paste it in.
SharePoint & OneDrive
Connect Microsoft from the Connections page, then open a SharePoint page, Office file, or OneDrive document and ingest it from the sidebar. SharePoint and OneDrive files often open in the Office web viewer, where the address bar doesn't show the file — if detection doesn't trigger, use the paste-the-link option in the Ingest card. On organisations that restrict app consent, your Microsoft administrator may need to approve Sidenote once.
Billing and plans
Manage your subscription from the dashboard. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
Your data
You choose Store or Discard for each document, and you can delete any document at any time. For retention details and your rights under UK GDPR — including how to request access to or deletion of your data — see our Privacy Policy.
